AIB had been identified in numerous areas within the college.
Once the enclosure had been erected, the AIB was suppressed with a solution of fibre surfactant, applied by low pressure hand pump.
When satisfied that the suppressant has sufficiently dampened down any residual dust or debris and that any AIB had sufficient time to penetrate fully, the operatives proceeded to remove tiles around the perimeter, sealing any unseen openings as they progressed.
This process was repeated, removing all identified AIB tiles and placing them into waste sacks.
Once the ceiling was removed, any other visible AIB was collected, wrapped and sealed before being disposed of into waste sacks.
Once all visible AIB tiles were removed, any voids were accessed and inspected for debris or residual material which were removed as part of the decontamination process.
